Biography
Jasmin Leona Krieger, born in Berlin in 1982, is a Berlin-based contemporary artist working primarily with marker and fineliner on paper.
Her dense, intuitive drawings oscillate between abstraction and figuration, revealing hidden figures, creatures, faces and psychological landscapes.
Her practice emerged during a period of profound personal transformation and is rooted in perception, intuition and the subconscious.
Working without a predetermined plan, layered compositions unfold through colour and line. What appears abstract at first gradually reveals inner worlds, archetypes and unexpected figures.
Rather than prescribing a single interpretation, her work invites viewers to shift perspective and discover their own meanings within the image.
Method
The Process
Each drawing begins without a preliminary sketch. Working intuitively with an extensive palette of marker colours, Jasmin layers line, colour and minute detail until the composition begins to reveal itself.
The process is one of sustained attention: responding to each new form, following unexpected connections and allowing figures to emerge at their own pace. The finished work remains open—a field for individual perception.
